Apple has released updates for its Creator Studio app suite, which includes new versions of Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, and other applications. The updates, released on April 9, 2026, bring a range of new features and improvements to the apps available on both Mac and iPad.
Logic Pro, one of the key applications in the suite, now supports previewing Dolby Atmos Mix creations. This feature allows users to export a lightweight, shareable file to preview their spatial audio mix as it will sound when streamed on Apple Music. The preview is playable on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, according to the release notes. However, the Dolby Atmos Mix preview feature is only available on the Mac version of Logic Pro. Additionally, Logic Pro introduces a new Step Reflex Pack available on both Mac and iPad, along with bug fixes and performance improvements. These improvements include the ability for Mac users to access missing Sound Library patches.
Pixelmator Pro, another app in the Creator Studio suite, has received significant updates as well. The app now fully supports compressed RAW images from several camera models, including Sony Alpha ILCE-7M5, FUJIFILM GFX 100S II, and FUJIFILM GFX 100RF. It also supports High Efficiency (HE) and High Efficiency Star (HE*) RAW images from Nikon Z5Il and Nikon Z50ll cameras. Furthermore, Pixelmator Pro can open and edit RAW images from Panasonic LUMIX DC-S1RM2 cameras captured in High Resolution mode.
The update to Pixelmator Pro also includes new template and mockup categories, featuring new iPhone 17 mockups, and improved compatibility for opening SVG files exported from it in Adobe Illustrator. Users can now touch and hold an image on the canvas to compare before and after edits, and the Tools sidebar can be customized from the menu bar. New keyboard shortcuts have been introduced, enhancing the app's usability.
Final Cut Camera, another app in the suite, introduces a new app icon that matches the Creator Studio icon style, along with performance improvements and stability enhancements.
Apple Creator Studio, introduced earlier this year, is a subscription bundle that provides users access to all Apple pro software on Mac and iPad, such as Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, and Pixelmator Pro. The subscription is available for $12.99 per month or $129 per year after a free trial. Pixelmator Pro was made available on iPad for the first time with the launch of Apple Creator Studio. A new Liquid Glass design was also introduced on Mac with the launch of the suite.
Apple has promised that updates will continue for users who have already purchased the apps, but some features exclusive to Creator Studio will not be included in these updates. The first major update to Pixelmator Pro since the Creator Studio launch was released this week, adding improved file support for new camera models and new app mockup templates featuring iPhone 17 models. The upfront paid version of Pixelmator Pro is version 3.8, while the Creator Studio version is version 4.2. The upfront paid version does not include the new Liquid Glass design.
Today's software updates include updates to both the standalone and suite versions of Apple's creative apps, continuing Apple's commitment to enhancing its professional software offerings.
